The BLM is offering 170 parcels totaling 155,816 acres of Colorado public land in a June 16, 2026 oil and gas lease sale, spread across the western slope in Moffat, Rio Blanco, Garfield, and Mesa Counties. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act mandates quarterly lease auctions and slashes royalty rates, turning what was once a deliberate process into a fire sale. The 30-day protest period closes May 18.
