Ranchers, hunters, and recreationists fought for 20 years to protect the Thompson Divide from drilling and won a hard-fought mineral withdrawal in 2022. Two decades of grassroots work, now being reconsidered by bureaucrats who weren’t there for any of it. The leases these communities killed could come roaring back.
