What’s happening to Grand Canyon
Two billion years of Earth’s history carved into stone, visited by six million people a year, and still not safe from uranium mining. Legacy mines on the rim already leach radioactive contamination into springs that feed the Colorado River. The 20-year mineral withdrawal that was supposed to stop new claims is under active review for reversal.
