The origin
How they started
Klamath Forest Alliance is a grassroots outfit run by people who actually live in the Klamath-Siskiyou Mountains. Back-to-the-landers and Klamath River Task Force volunteers incorporated it in 1989, after the 1987 wildfires burned more than 260,000 acres of the Klamath National Forest. From its base in Etna, California, KFA does on-the-ground forest and fisheries monitoring, off-road vehicle watch, and grazing reform across the wild country of far northern California and southern Oregon.
