Nearly 600,000 square miles of pristine coral reefs, deep-sea ecosystems, and migratory species found nowhere else on Earth. The largest marine protected area on the planet, and in April 2025 a proclamation opened its waters between 50 and 200 nautical miles out to commercial fishing. The ocean has no lobby.
