In June 2026 the governor and BLM Nevada unveiled an interactive mapping tool flagging BLM parcels as candidates for disposal and development, built explicitly to help developers and local governments find public land to build on. Concentrated around Las Vegas and Clark County, the tool functions as a de facto disposal list. The Sierra Club called it a blueprint for taxpayer-subsidized sprawl that could hand off desert habitat and open space parcel by parcel.
