Ocmulgee Mounds

Our take

Seventeen thousand years of people have called this ground home, and the mounds rising over the floodplain still stop you cold. We made this with Visit Macon as Ocmulgee stands on the edge of becoming Georgia's first national park. Treat it like the sacred place it is.

In partnership with @visitmacon and @OcmulgeePark, this film from More Than Just Parks explores one of the most culturally and ecologically significant places in the Southeast: Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park.

From 17,000 years of continuous human presence to the sacred earthwork mounds that rise above the floodplain, Ocmulgee is a living, layered story. Now, it stands on the brink of becoming Georgia’s first National Park & Preserve.

Join us as we celebrate and explore this cultural and natural wonder.
