Alongside rescinding the Public Lands Rule, the BLM proposed a sweeping rewrite of its grazing regulations across roughly 155 million acres of public rangeland. The proposal hands ranchers more flexibility while restricting allotments to “production-oriented livestock,” language that would bar conservation grazing and Tribal bison herds from BLM land. The public comment period is open through July 13, 2026.
