Mature and old-growth forests in the Umpqua River watershed that filter drinking water for downstream communities and shelter coho salmon already teetering on the edge. BLM calls it “forest health treatment.” The trees being marked for cutting are healthy. The only thing ailing here is the agency’s credibility.
