Geneva Rock Products wants to expand an existing limestone quarry into a 104-acre parcel in Morgan County, Utah where the federal government owns the mineral rights beneath state land. The operation would run for up to 48 years, pulling about 700,000 tons of limestone annually for road construction and aggregate materials. It'll affect public mineral estate managed by the BLM's Salt Lake Field Office and the surrounding landscape near Morgan City.

Geneva Rock Products (Applicant) proposes to develop and operate a limestone quarry on a 104.33-acre parcel of State of Utah land where the United States retains the mineral estate. The project area is located in Morgan County, Utah, approximately one mile northeast of Morgan City. The proposed action would expand an existing limestone mining operation currently occurring on adjacent private lands by incorporating the federal mineral estate into the active quarry.
