The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is reopening a 30-day public comment period on its March 2024 proposal to remove the North Park phacelia, a Colorado plant, from the federal Endangered Species Act list. The agency updated its Species Status Assessment based on peer review and previously submitted comments, and it's giving the public another chance to weigh in before making a final delisting decision. Conservation professionals, land managers, and anyone with an interest in Colorado's native plant species should consider submitting comments.
