The MTJP Corps is a national community built to ground-truth threats to America’s public lands and act on what we find. More Than Just Parks reads every open federal land decision daily, works out which of the agency’s own factual claims a photograph could test, and tells members when one opens on ground they already know. Members go on their own schedule, photograph what is actually there, and file it into the public record under their own names before the comment window closes. Nobody is directed anywhere and nobody is paid.
Read live, last engine run October 17, 2026 at 1:04 PM UTC. Membership is published once it passes the threshold we set before launch, so that an early number can never be mistaken for the size of the effort.
Photographs are uploaded straight into a private bucket; the file never passes through the app. Our server then reads each object back, hashes it, and parses the EXIF off the file itself rather than trusting anything the browser reports. The coordinates are checked against the decision’s own published boundary and the distance inside it is recorded. Originals are immutable: a second upload to the same slot is refused by storage, not by us. A photograph carrying no location is kept and presented as it is, marked as carrying none; a member may pair it with a phone photograph taken beside it, in which case the borrowed coordinates and the hash of the frame they came from are both recorded. Weight is for the reader of the packet to judge, and the record gives them what they need to judge it.
Members appear to partner organizations as numbers. No name, email, phone or ZIP appears on an organization’s desk or in any packet we hand out. Member locations are shown on the public map only as rough 35-mile squares drawn from ZIP centers, never as a person or an address. Nothing a member files reaches a partner unless that member released it, and reports on sensitive subjects such as nest sites or cultural resources are sealed at creation: counted, never carried.
The images on these pages are ours, shot in the Tongass National Forest. They may be used in coverage of the Corps with the credit line More Than Just Parks, unaltered and uncropped. Member-submitted evidence is never released to press by us; ask the member.

We will talk about the system, the method, any fight on the board, and what the record shows. We will not identify a member, confirm whether a named person is one, or discuss an individual report without that member’s written say-so. If a member wants to talk to you, they will tell you themselves.
