Nothing is open on this one today. It is a place the Corps keeps an eye on, so we see the paperwork the day it lands.
From public forest ground around the Pinyon Plain mine, photograph where water leaves the site and the drainage below it, plus any spring, seep or standing water nearby and animal tracks at it. Date every shot.
An active uranium mine on the Kaibab National Forest just south of Grand Canyon National Park, inside the Baaj Nwaavjo I'tah Kukveni monument landscape and above the aquifer that feeds Havasu Creek and the Havasupai Tribe's only water source. The Havasupai have fought the mine for decades.
Nobody is asking you to go here today. We watch this place so that the day a decision opens on it, the people who already know it hear the same week. If you are out here anyway, what you photograph now is worth more later than anything taken after the paperwork lands.
More Than Just Parks doesn’t direct where you go or what you do. Terms.
