Nothing is open on this one today. It is a place the Corps keeps an eye on, so we see the paperwork the day it lands.
On the Lolo, Flathead, Bitterroot or Kootenai, photograph the stand you know best: is it actually knocked down by the winter and spring windstorms, or still standing green and big? Include a pack or person for scale.
In June 2026 the Forest Service launched a region-wide "emergency salvage" logging effort across six Northern Rockies national forests, the Nez Perce-Clearwater, Idaho Panhandle, Lolo, Flathead, Bitterroot, and Kootenai, in response to December 2025 and spring 2026 windstorms.
Nobody is asking you to go here today. We watch this place so that the day a decision opens on it, the people who already know it hear the same week. If you are out here anyway, what you photograph now is worth more later than anything taken after the paperwork lands.
More Than Just Parks doesn’t direct where you go or what you do. Terms.
