Nothing is open on this one today. It is a place the Corps keeps an eye on, so we see the paperwork the day it lands.
In the forest around Jardine, photograph the biggest standing trees with a pack or person beside them for scale, plus standing dead snags and how closed the canopy is, so we have proof of what stood before any clearcutting.
A commercial logging project on the Custer Gallatin National Forest in the drainages around Jardine, just north of Yellowstone National Park and the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness. The roughly 4,400-acre project includes clearcutting, thinning, prescribed burning, and temporary road construction.
Nobody is asking you to go here today. We watch this place so that the day a decision opens on it, the people who already know it hear the same week. If you are out here anyway, what you photograph now is worth more later than anything taken after the paperwork lands.
More Than Just Parks doesn’t direct where you go or what you do. Terms.
