Nothing is open on this one today. It is a place the Corps keeps an eye on, so we see the paperwork the day it lands.
On the BLM ground inside the 8,500-acre project area, photograph every spring and seep you can reach: how much water is running, wet mud or dry cracks, and any animal tracks at the edge. Date each shot.
A new open-pit gold and silver mine on the Carlin Trend in Elko County, where more than half of the roughly 8,500-acre project area is BLM public land. The BLM fast-tracked the Orla Mining proposal under FAST-41, skipping the usual draft environmental impact statement and issuing the final EIS and decision together, leaving the public no chance to comment on the analysis before approval.
Nobody is asking you to go here today. We watch this place so that the day a decision opens on it, the people who already know it hear the same week. If you are out here anyway, what you photograph now is worth more later than anything taken after the paperwork lands.
More Than Just Parks doesn’t direct where you go or what you do. Terms.
