Nothing is open on this one today. It is a place the Corps keeps an eye on, so we see the paperwork the day it lands.
From the boat or in the water, photograph the reef and the fish schooling over it, and shoot the open horizon too. Anyone who goes out here knows the day commercial boats and gear show up, that water looks different.
Nearly 600,000 square miles of pristine coral reefs, deep-sea ecosystems, and migratory species found nowhere else on Earth. The largest marine protected area on the planet, and the protections are already being reviewed for reduction to accommodate commercial fishing interests. The ocean has no lobby.
Nobody is asking you to go here today. We watch this place so that the day a decision opens on it, the people who already know it hear the same week. If you are out here anyway, what you photograph now is worth more later than anything taken after the paperwork lands.
More Than Just Parks doesn’t direct where you go or what you do. Terms.
