Nothing is open on this one today. It is a place the Corps keeps an eye on, so we see the paperwork the day it lands.
On the Phillips County bison allotments, photograph the grass as it stands now, height against your boot, plus creek banks and wallows where the bison water. Same spots each trip, before cattle-only replaces them.
The largest prairie conservation project in the country is under direct assault. Interior Secretary Burgum personally assumed jurisdiction and ordered BLM to revoke four bison grazing leases covering seven allotments on 63,000 acres in Phillips County, reversing a 2022 authorization that took years to secure.
Nobody is asking you to go here today. We watch this place so that the day a decision opens on it, the people who already know it hear the same week. If you are out here anyway, what you photograph now is worth more later than anything taken after the paperwork lands.
More Than Just Parks doesn’t direct where you go or what you do. Terms.
