Nothing is open on this one today. It is a place the Corps keeps an eye on, so we see the paperwork the day it lands.
Walk to trees carrying fresh cut marks and photograph each one with a pack or person against the trunk for scale, plus a look straight up at the canopy. Show the marked trees are big, green and healthy.
Mature and old-growth forests in the Umpqua River watershed that filter drinking water for downstream communities and shelter coho salmon already teetering on the edge. BLM calls it "forest health treatment." The trees being marked for cutting are healthy. The only thing ailing here is the agency's credibility.
Nobody is asking you to go here today. We watch this place so that the day a decision opens on it, the people who already know it hear the same week. If you are out here anyway, what you photograph now is worth more later than anything taken after the paperwork lands.
More Than Just Parks doesn’t direct where you go or what you do. Terms.
