Nothing is open on this one today. It is a place the Corps keeps an eye on, so we see the paperwork the day it lands.
Where cattle can reach the Bruneau or Jarbidge water, shoot the bank itself: hoof-punched edges, bare mud, cropped streamside grass, and the sagebrush uplands just above. Include a wide shot showing how far the bare ground runs.
Two wild rivers carve thousand-foot canyons through southern Idaho's high desert, home to desert bighorn sheep, redband trout, and some of the most remote canyon country in the West. Chronic overgrazing has degraded the sagebrush uplands that feed these rivers, and the BLM consistently sides with ranchers over the resource.
Nobody is asking you to go here today. We watch this place so that the day a decision opens on it, the people who already know it hear the same week. If you are out here anyway, what you photograph now is worth more later than anything taken after the paperwork lands.
More Than Just Parks doesn’t direct where you go or what you do. Terms.
