Nothing is open on this one today. It is a place the Corps keeps an eye on, so we see the paperwork the day it lands.
Photograph the ancient Indigenous foot trails where they run across open desert, close up on the worn path and any rock alignments beside it, plus a wide shot showing whether vehicle tracks are cutting them. No coordinates.
Over 600,000 acres of Sonoran Desert wilderness, rugged canyons, desert tortoise habitat, and ancient Indigenous trails. Chuckwalla could lose its protections before most Americans learn it exists. That is the point: kill the monument while no one is watching.
Nobody is asking you to go here today. We watch this place so that the day a decision opens on it, the people who already know it hear the same week. If you are out here anyway, what you photograph now is worth more later than anything taken after the paperwork lands.
More Than Just Parks doesn’t direct where you go or what you do. Terms.
