Nothing is open on this one today. It is a place the Corps keeps an eye on, so we see the paperwork the day it lands.
On public land just outside the park line, photograph bison sign: tracks, wallows, dung, and hair caught on fences, plus any grizzly or wolf tracks. Date each shot to show these animals use the ground beyond the boundary.
The last intact temperate ecosystem in North America, and the park boundary means nothing to the grizzlies, wolves, and bison that cross it daily. Beyond the line, mining proposals, grazing conflicts, and wildlife management rollbacks are dismantling the ecosystem that makes Yellowstone possible. One lease sale, one hazing operation, one bullet at a time.
Nobody is asking you to go here today. We watch this place so that the day a decision opens on it, the people who already know it hear the same week. If you are out here anyway, what you photograph now is worth more later than anything taken after the paperwork lands.
More Than Just Parks doesn’t direct where you go or what you do. Terms.
